ATTRACTIONS IN THE AREA
ON THE WATER
BEACH
Although Manowce Palace is located right by the water, we do not have a beach, as the shoreline forms a two-metre-high cliff. You can go down to the water, which is shallow, making it perfect for children’s play. Guests can sunbathe in the garden by the lagoon’s shore.
If our guests are keen to enjoy sandy beaches, they can find them along the Szczecin Lagoon or by the Baltic Sea. We list them here in order from the closest to the farthest.
Szczecin Lagoon. The beaches of West Pomerania are not only those along the Baltic Sea. There are also great sandy beaches along the Szczecin Lagoon.
Trzebież. The closest beach to Manowce, 9 kilometres by car, is about 300 metres long. There are many attractions for children and dining options nearby, as well as a more than ten-metre-high observation tower.
Nowe Warpno. The beach is about 15 km by car from Manowce. It is only 100 metres long. There are two dining spots next to the beach. A promenade surrounds the peninsula, and an observation tower stands next to it.
Szczecin. The beach in this city is not located on the Szczecin Lagoon because, contrary to its name, the lagoon does not reach Szczecin. If guests decide to visit Szczecin, we recommend the beach at Lake Głębokie, as there are many attractions there, including a wake park, which we describe below.
Baltic Sea. The most beautiful beaches in Poland are those by the sea. In a straight line, the distance from Manowce Palace to the sea is only 20 kilometres, but the Szczecin Lagoon lies in between, meaning it must be bypassed. At our guests' request, we can check whether and at what price a motorboat would be available to transport them to coastal towns.
Świnoujście Beach. According to many tourists, this is the most beautiful beach in Poland, and it is certainly the widest, reaching up to 200 metres in some areas. It stretches for almost 10 kilometres. By car from Manowce, the trip takes about 140 km through Germany, which takes two hours.
Międzyzdroje Beach. Another beautiful beach by the Baltic Sea is located about 130 km (two hours by car) from Manowce via Poland. It is nearly 5 kilometres long and 30–50 metres wide. Both Międzyzdroje and Świnoujście offer hundreds of attractions. Near Międzyzdroje, in Lubiewo, there is a nudist beach.

ANGLING
We warmly invite our guests on a fishing trip to the Szczecin Lagoon. Fishing in this body of water will undoubtedly be an exciting adventure. Experienced anglers can manage on their own. For a fee, we can rent them our boat – a fishing boat with an electric motor. Interested guests should contact us in advance so that we can prepare and launch the boat. We also recommend fishing trips with an experienced fishing guide, Piotr Kaliski who has his own boat.
A fishing permit is required. The Szczecin Lagoon is classified as internal marine waters, so a permit for sea fishing must be purchased. Fishing fees are paid to the account of the Main Inspectorate of Marine Fisheries. Those who wish to fish in the Oder River must obtain a permit from the Polish Angling Association in Szczecin. In this case, a fishing card is required. We can assist in making any of these payments and obtaining the necessary permits.
The lagoon is probably the richest fishery in Poland in terms of species diversity. Almost all species of carp fish found in Poland can be caught here. In addition, predators such as perch, zander, burbot, catfish, pike, as well as salmon and sea trout, can also be found. Other freshwater fish, including rarer species such as migratory whitefish, allis shad, and vimba bream, are present. Interestingly, marine fish such as smelt and goby also occasionally appear in the lagoon.

SAILING
We invite guests to Manowce Palace who have their own yachts, as well as those who want to rent a yacht and sail on the Szczecin Lagoon.
The Szczecin Lagoon is an attractive waterbody for sailors. First, it is large. It is hard to believe that it is six times bigger than Śniardwy, Poland’s largest lake. Second, in summer, the weather is favourable for sailors, as the wind can blow well into the sails. Third, there are numerous yacht marinas on the lagoon, providing places to dock or rent a yacht.
If you are sailing your own yacht into the Szczecin Lagoon, we invite you to stay overnight at Manowce Palace. We encourage you to use one of the marinas on the lagoon. Unfortunately, the waters near Manowce Palace are shallow even at a considerable distance from the shore, and we do not have our own marina.
Marina Trzebież. The yacht marina closest to Manowce. We can provide complimentary transportation for our guests to and from this marina. The marina offers 91 berths for sailing yachts with drinking water and electricity. The minimum guaranteed depth of the basins is 2.5 metres.
Marina Nowe Warpno. This is a small marina with only six guest berths. The internal depth of the basin is 1.5–1.7 metres.
Marina Szczecin. Szczecin has several yacht marinas. However, since Szczecin is far from Manowce Palace, we recommend the marina in Trzebież. In Szczecin, one option to consider is Marina Club (30 guest berths, basin depth 3 metres) or the Szczecin Sailing Centre (only 10 guest berths, basin depth 2 metres).
Marina Świnoujście. If our guests wish to sail out onto the Baltic Sea or travel to Świnoujście for a seaside beach, they can use one of the marinas in Świnoujście. The Świnoujście North Basin Yacht Port is one option. It has as many as 150 guest berths and depths ranging from 3 to 5.5 metres.
If you did not arrive with your own yacht, chartering remains an option. The Szczecin Lagoon has many places where you can rent a yacht with or without a skipper. Every major sailing marina offers yacht charters. The Szczecin Lagoon is classified as internal marine waters, but to rent a yacht without a skipper for sailing on the lagoon, only a sailing licence is required.
Yacht Charter Trzebież. Interested guests should contact us, and we will check if a suitable offer is available in Trzebież.
Yacht Charter Szczecin. Szczecin is the best place for charters. Here are some companies in Szczecin that offer yacht rentals: Sail & Fun Team, Dom Żeglarski Mila, Delta Czartery Szczecin.

WATER SPORTS
Kayaking. Guests spending their holidays with us can use our kayaks free of charge and paddle on the Szczecin Lagoon. However, some may dream of a proper kayaking trip. In the area, there are companies that organize one-day kayak trips. West Pomerania is famous for its excellent kayaking routes, though they are located quite far from us. However, there are also great kayaking trips near Szczecin. Szkoła Kajakowa organizes trips on the Płonia River and in Międzyodrze. Magiczny Zakątek offers trips on the Ina River, while Latarnik from Kopice, on the other side of the Lagoon, provides trips on nearby rivers or along the shores of the lagoon. These companies supply kayaks, paddles for each participant, and all other necessary equipment.
Motorboats. Our guests may be interested in chartering not a motor yacht, as mentioned above, but a motorboat, which is a smaller and faster vessel. The person operating the motorboat must have a motorboat licence, unless the motorboat has an engine with less than 10 kW of power. If you have a motorboat licence and want to have some fun on the lagoon, you can rent a motorboat with a more powerful engine. The other option is a motorboat that doesn’t require a licence, which you can use to explore the waters in and around Szczecin. Szczecin has a great selection of both types of boats. You can choose from companies like Boat & Fun, Motorówki Szczecin, or Szczecińskie Motorówki. At Boat & Fun, booking and cruise services are also available in German and English.
Jet skis. Due to the noise they generate, we do not favour jet skis in the vicinity of Manowce Palace. However, the lagoon is large enough to find areas where the noise will not be as disruptive. In Szczecin, there is a jet ski rental service run by Watercraft Rent. It is worth noting that to legally operate a jet ski, you must have a motorboat licence.
Windsurfing. As far as we know, Szczecin does not have a place where you can rent equipment (surfboard, windsurfing sails, etc.). The closest option is Lake Miedwie, at the Family Surfing centre. This facility serves as both a rental and a windsurfing school. Guests interested in foil windsurfing should contact us, and we will try to arrange foil wing equipment for rental or advise on where to practise.
Kitesurfing. Szczecin is not an ideal location for this sport either. Kitesurfing boards and equipment such as kites, harnesses, wetsuits, etc., can be rented at Kitetrips.pl in Świnoujście. For kitesurfing courses, you can visit them or KiteFORT, also in Świnoujście.
Wakeboarding. Szczecin has a great spot for this sport: Wake Park Szczecin at Lake Głębokie, on the outskirts of the city heading towards Manowce. Wakeboarding involves riding a board while being towed by a motorboat or attached to a special cable system. Wake Park Szczecin has one wakeboarding cable 226 metres long and another 218 metres long.
E-foil. The e-foil board is a surfboard equipped with a hydrofoil submerged below the board and connected to an electric propulsion system. At Lake Głębokie, the company Splash Of Fun offers e-foil board rentals and lessons on how to ride them.
Scuba diving. Szczecin and its surroundings are not typically chosen by recreational divers. Nevertheless, foundation Diving Team 24 from Stargard conducts diving lessons and courses in swimming pools in Szczecin and Stargard, as well as in lakes, including Lake Ińsko (80 km from Szczecin) and Lake Werbellinsee in Germany (90 km from Szczecin). It is worth contacting them to inquire about their offerings and whether they provide diving equipment.

Boat cruises on the Oder River
BOAT CRUISES
The Szczecin Lagoon is not just for water sports. For guests who prefer relaxation on the water, we recommend a sightseeing boat cruise.
Szczecin cruises. The best sightseeing cruises in our area are in Szczecin. These are primarily cruises on the Oder River. Szczecin borders an area known as Międzyodrze, which is located between the two branches of the Oder: the Western Oder and the Eastern Oder. Two companies in Szczecin organize boat trips through Międzyodrze and on Lake Dąbie. The company KJT operates two spacious cruise ships –
Odra Queen and Joanna – and offers a wide range of cruises on the surrounding waters. The company Secco offers cruises on the excursion boat Dziewanna, as well as on the ships Kapitan Cook and Sedina, on six different routes near Szczecin.
Cruises on the Szczecin Lagoon. The Odra Queen, operated by the aforementioned KJT company, runs a connection on the Szczecin Świnoujście route every weekend during the summer holidays. The ship departs from Szczecin in the morning and from Świnoujście in the early evening. In Świnoujście, visitors can spend time on the beach or enjoy numerous attractions and restaurants. With this operator, you can also travel to ports such as Trzebież, Nowe Warpno, or Ueckermünde. It is worth checking the current cruise schedule at https://rejsyszczecin.pl/.
Świnoujście cruises. Guests planning a day trip to Świnoujście can get there on the Odra Queen passenger ship. Świnoujście is one of the ports served by the German company Adler-Schiffe. They offer cruises from Świnoujście to neighbouring German towns, as well as boat trips between Świnoujście and Międzyzdroje.
Nowe Warpno cruises. Lastly, it is worth mentioning the ferry service between Nowe Warpno and Altwarp. A one-way ferry crossing takes only 15 minutes. The ferry schedule can be found on the operator’s website. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the ferry does not operate. The company KJT also offers full-day trips from Szczecin to Nowe Warpno, which include a city guide and refreshments.
