In September, we had the great pleasure of hosting the organizers and participants of the unique Sytobrunch event. The best description comes from its founder, Magdalena Gogłoza: “Out of love for food and a desire to bring people together, I created Sytobrunch – unique brunch gatherings in the most beautiful corners of Szczecin. The concept is simple – I set a beautifully arranged table in the middle of extraordinary Szczecin locations and serve plant-based dishes that I prepare myself from the highest-quality local ingredients. Strangers sit at the table, wanting to spend a leisurely Sunday surrounded by kind people, tasting new dishes, and learning the stories of people they meet for the first time.”
In front of the palace, a nearly 13-metre-long table was set up, covered with an ecru tablecloth. On crystal plates lay olive napkins, menus tied with red ribbon, and vintage cutlery – each piece unique and ornate. All food was served on silver or crystal platters, bowls, or plates, to reflect the spirit of palace elegance.
The table was set, flowers in place, guests slowly taking their seats – time to eat. Seasonal highlights included pumpkin, corn, plums, but also beans, peaches, Brussels sprouts, and tomatoes. The menu featured grilled corn paste, baked pumpkin with corn, feta, pumpkin seeds and coriander, boiled beetroot with orange and za’atar on homemade labneh, and fried Brussels sprouts in bagna cauda sauce with panko-chilli crumble. But of course, everyone was waiting for the queen of the evening – the pavlova. This time it appeared in two versions: baked plums with pistachios and wine-poached pears with hazelnuts.
This gathering at Manowce Palace was the epitome of peace and bliss. Surrounded by nature, guests admired stunning views of the Szczecin Lagoon, relaxed in deckchairs under the trees, and enjoyed the sunshine and refreshing breeze from the water.
